As we near the beginning of the 102nd edition of the Giro d’Italia it is a good time to reflect on past history of the great tours. When Claudio Mantovani started Moa Sport (Nalini) in the 1970s he supplied the newest chamois shorts to the professional teams. He built a very good business with the shorts because the professional riders in the big tours attested to their comfort and performance advantage. Moving forward to the 1990s Mr. Mantovani wanted to promote his new commercial label and there was no better way than with professional team sponsorship and thus Nalini became a favorite choice among cycling enthusiasts worldwide.
